The Big Dig
First - A Little "Tree Work"
It's 7:00 AM on Monday, May 18th. Although it's supposed to be Spring, you wouldn't know it by the temperature this morning. It's a "balmy 46 degrees". With the wind it feels much colder. But the sky has cleared from yet another fairly damp and dreary weekend, and we're REALLY excited to begin the building process.
The First (or Second) Scoop
I was talking to "Bob the Builder" (as we refer to him), so I missed the first scoop. Here's a picture of scoop number two :-)
More Scoops
As we watched the digging process, I couldn't help but think of what one of the movers (to our temporary house) told me a week or so ago. He said, "Did you ever see the movie Groundhog Day"? Of course, we had. He then said, "That's kinda' what my life is like ... I get up every morning and "go move things". It's the same thing every day".
Something tells me this is kinda' the same job.
And More Scoops
OK ... I've been here for an hour and a half now, and it's not so exciting anymore. He's digging and I'm watching :-)
The Pile is Getting Bigger
The most "exciting" thing I've seen so far ... and it looks like it would be fun to do. But I'm really bored now, so I'm going home. I'll be back later this evening to see the "finished product". Believe it or not, the footers for the foundation are scheduled to be dug tomorrow !!!!!
