Sanding and Finishing the Floors
It's Tuesday, November 24th, and the guys have arrived to sand and finish the floors. They'll have exclusive access to the inside of the house for the rest of the week.
It's a REALLY dirty job. Another "Groundhog Day" job that I can't imagine having.
Here's a shot of the guy using the large (and very loud) belt sander.
But it sure looks nice when they're done !!!
It's now Wednesday, November 25th, and it's STILL raining :-(
Bob and I are both getting concerned about finishing the exterior work on time.
The good news is that half of the floors now have their first coat of finish. The finish is low VOC, per the LEED specifications.
This shot is the Dining Room area (first finish coat applied) and the Great Room (sanded only).
Here's a shot of the hallway to the Master Suite.

It's Thanksgiving Day, and the first coat is now complete. Here are a few shots of the Great Room
The Breakfast Area.
The Kitchen.
For an idea of just how much dust is created by the sanding process, I took this shot of the garage doors. They really are both white, but the one on the right was left in the "open position" yesterday, so it now looks beige.
